Urinary Incontinence in Men

(Post-Prostatectomy Incontinence)

Incontinence in men is nearly always, although not invariably, secondary to previous surgical treatments or trauma. As such, treatments may be covered by ACC under the Treatment Injury Legislation.

Until recently, although very severe urinary incontinence could be successfully treated with an artificial urinary sphincter, the options for more minor (although no less bothersome), incontinence in men were limited.

André has a special interest in the workup and treatment of male urinary incontinence.  He has experience in the full range of procedures avaialble, including not only the well established artificial urinary sphincter, but also the newer surgical techniques which may suit men better,  such as the AdVance sling and the ATOMS sling
